Willoughby and Sharrah to defend National Titles in Rock Hill, S.C.

The top Elite BMX Racers in the U.S. will be competing this Friday at the 2019 USA Cycling Elite BMX National Championships in Rock Hill, S.C. Reigning U.S. National Champions Alise (Post) Willoughby (Chula Vista, Calif.) and Corben Sharrah (Tucson, Ariz.) will be in the start gate on Saturday as well as elite lineup of riders including Nic Long (Lakeside, Calif.) and Brooke Crain (Visalia, Calif.) who represented Team USA at the 2018 UCI BMX World Championships.

The event will take place at the Rock Hill BMX Supercross Track in Rock Hill, South Carolina. The track is home to the USA BMX Carolina Nationals and also hosted the 2017 UCI BMX World Championships. It is a dual purpose facility with an 8-meter elite supercross start hill and a 5-meter amateur start hill. It was the first Olympic caliber training facility on the East Coast and one of now five in the United States.

“We are excited to kick-off our 2019 National Championship season with Elite BMX Nationals,” said Chuck Hodge, Chief of Racing and Events for USA Cycling, “It's great to once again be partnering with USA BMX and to host this year’s Nationals at the world-class facility in Rock Hill, S.C.”

Friday’s qualifying rounds begin at 2pm EST and the finals are expected to begin at 6pm EST.
