USA Cycling announced today the promotion of two long-time staff members, Tara McCarthy to Director of National Events and Stuart Lamp to Director of Event Services.

Colorado Springs, Colo. (January 25, 2019) – USA Cycling announced today the promotion of two long-time staff members, Tara McCarthy and Stuart Lamp. McCarthy will take on the role of National Events Director while Lamp will transition to Director of Event Services.

“I have worked closely with both Tara and Stuart over the past several years,” said USA Cycling Chief of Racing and Events, Chuck Hodge, “I have no doubt that they are the right people for their positions. Their hard work and dedication to the sport of cycling has earned them the respect of the entire cycling community. I look forward to our continued work of promoting cycling in the U.S.”

McCarthy began with USA Cycling in 2011 as the Race Director Certification Manager and most recently held the position of Senior National Events Manager where, over the years, she has directed USA Cycling National Championships across every discipline. She will now be transitioning into a larger leadership role, overseeing USA Cycling’s National Championships and National Calendars.

Lamp, a former collegiate cyclist at Lees-McCrae, joined the organization in 2007 as an Event Services Regional Manager and most recently held the position of Senior Manager of Business Development. He will now continue to work with Race Directors and Local Associations on the National Level to promote grassroots events.

“There is a wealth of knowledge and experience within our organization,” said Rob DeMartini, President and CEO of USA Cycling, “I’m happy to watch both Tara and Stuart continue to grow within USA Cycling and know that they will be huge contributors to our future success.”
