Recap of UCI Cyclocross World Championships Valkenburg-Limburg

Team USA had a strong performance at the UCI Cyclocross World Championships in Valkenburg-Limburg, Netherlands this past weekend with six top ten finishers across the five races.

Saturday started off with a bang at the Men’s Junior’s Race where Lane Maher (Hot Tubes Development Cycling; Harwinton, Conn.) took an impressive 5th place followed by a strong 7th place finish by Emma White (Cannondale p/b Cyclocrossworld; Delanson, N.Y)in the Women’s U23 Race.

The day ended with the Women’s Elite Race where our reigning national champion, Katie Compton (KFC Racing p/b Trek/Panache; Colorado Springs, Colo.) finished with a silver medal with Kaitlin Keough (Cannondale p/b Cyclocrossworld; Colorado Springs, Colo.) and Elle Anderson (Cycling.be - Alpha Motorhomes; Oakland, Calif.) also finishing in the top 10 in 6th and 8th place respectively.

Sunday, Gage Hecht (Alpha Bicycle Co.- Vista Subaru; Parker, Colo.) took 9th place in the Men’s U23 Race, while Stephen Hyde (Cannondale p/b Cyclocrossworld; Easthampton, Mass.) placed 15th in the Men’s Elite Race.
