The 2020 Road and Mountain Bike National Assignment Requests have been published and are available for you to select from your USA Cycling My Account Page (what you see after you log in). This year, the system is designed for you to simply take a survey which will record your results. We are using open technology, so no one has to have specific programs on their computer to in order to access the process. All you need is a computer or a smart phone and internet access. If that’s a barrier, then a grandchild or neighbor can likely assist! I welcome your feedback on this new process.
- If you’re on a computer go to your USA Cycling My Account page
- Once on the page, click on “Official Links” on the left-hand side
- If you are using a smart phone, use the link above to log into your account, and then use the dropdown under your name to select “Official Links”, and scroll down.
This year’s requests are available and visible to all USA Cycling Officials. We hope that this can begin to address issues of transparency of events and positions that are assigned. This new format will be publishing final assignments for everyone to see as well. The US road calendar continues to shrink with some major losses this year, specifically, the Tour of California. Assignment opportunities are simply limited by virtue of the events available.
Again, in response to the great suggestions from the 2019 National Officials’ Summit, apprentice positions are indicated on most events. Requests are being collected for review and study of development needs and to coordinate apprentice positions where available. If you select an apprentice position, please complete the comment section and indicate your development needs and goals so we can best consider these opportunities where available. Apprentice positions may be assigned on an as available basis considering many factors; Event Organizer coordination, financial resources available, crew management and teaching opportunities.
This assignment request process is now live, and requests must be received by midnight, December 8, 2019 Mountain Time
As I will be relying much more on Social Media to make announcements in lieu of email, please take note of my accounts:
