Races to Watch
The Women’s Team Pursuit Team, comprised of Kelly Catlin (Arden Hills, Minn.), Chloe Dygert-Owen (Port Orchard, Wash.), Kim Geist (Allentown, Penn.), and Jennifer Valente (San Diego, Calif.), are the defending World Champions and are competing for their third consecutive World Title.
In the women’s Individual Pursuit, Dygert and Catlin, who both medaled last year (Gold and Bronze respectively), are strong contenders for the podium again, while Valente is a favorite for the Women’s International Omnium. Maddie Godby (Louisville, Colo.), the first U.S. female to earn an international medal in a sprint event in 10 years, will be competing in the Individual Sprint as well as the Team Sprint with Mandy Marquardt (Allentown, Penn.).
For the men, look out for Daniel Holloway (Boulder, Colo.) in the International Omnium and Eric Young (Boulder, Colo.) in the Scratch and Points races. Ashton Lambie (Lawrence, Kan.) will make his World Championship Debut in the Men's Individual Pursuit as well as the Men's Team Pursuit. Adrian Hegyvary (Asheville, N.C.), Holloway and Gavin Hoover (Manhattan Beach, Calif.) will be racing with Lambie to round out the Team Pursuit.
